Welcome to the Highland Folk Museum
Welcome to the Highland Folk Museum, where you can step back in time and experience life in the Highlands from 1700s to the 1950s. We have over 35 historical buildings onsite for you to explore and discover how people in the Highlands lived, worked, went to school, enjoyed their leisure time.
We are open every day from 29 March until 31 Oct, 10.00am – 5.00pm, March – August 10.30am – 4.00pm in Sept & Oct.
Weds 17 & Thurs 18 April – Our Cafe will be open 10.00am – 4.00pm.
Hot & cold drinks / ice-creams are available until 5pm in our Gift Shop.
Entry is by donation and there is no need to book your visit, entry is guaranteed.
To help lessen the impact of increases to our operating costs, a charge for parking at the museum has been introduced. All of the income generated from parking will go towards the running and development of the museum. The parking charge will be a flat day-rate for stays of up to a maximum of seven hours, payable by card or coins, and will be charged at £2 per car; £4 for motorhomes and minibuses; and £9 per coach.
